Senior Consultant

We are currently looking for a Senior Consultant for either our Cape Town or Pretoria office. Responsibilities will include inter alia:

  • Providing technical input in the field of natural resource management, biodiversity conservation, heritage, marine and coastal resources, tourism and local economic development.
  • Writing consulting reports of high standard.
  • Managing a small team of consultants.

    Qualifications and experience:
  • A minimum of eight years consulting experience.
  • A minimum of a Master’s degree in a natural science-related discipline (e.g. ecology, marine) with cross-cutting expertise being particularly desirable.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent social and communication skills in spoken and written English.
  • A demonstrated ability to work accurately with attention to detail.
  • An ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • A willingness to undertake travel to remote areas.
  • Proficiency in GIS or other technical skills is desirable.

Interns and Assistants

We periodically use interns on projects and prefer to use interns from the areas where we work as our contribution to local capacity building, particularly in areas where such opportunities may be scarce. Ideally should be in the possession of an undergraduate degree that relates to our Areas of Expertise.
